Why do Car Puja?

Hindus seek blessings from God for any new items to ward off negative influences. This puja is done as soon as possible after the purchase. Such pujas are done for homes, businesses, etc. A vahana puja is a short ceremony to obtain God’s blessing for a new car. Puja can also be done for old cars during Devi Navaratri on Ayudha puja day.
